Archiving

ETHICA is dedicated to ensuring the perpetual availability and safeguarding of scholarly research, along with facilitating accessibility through the conversion and updating of digital file formats to align with the latest technological standards.
ETHICA: International Journal of Humanities and Social Science Studies has implemented a comprehensive archiving policy utilizing the Public Knowledge Project's Private Network (PKP PN). This policy ensures the long-term preservation and accessibility of its scholarly content. PKP PN, known for its robust and decentralized digital archiving system, is specifically tailored for academic journals, providing a reliable and secure method for storing and retrieving digital content. This collaboration with PKP PN demonstrates Ethica's commitment to maintaining the integrity and availability of its academic contributions for future generations of researchers and scholars.

Archival Services
ETHICA maintains a cutting-edge local facility designed to store a comprehensive and accurate digital rendition of published papers. The present format standards encompass XML and .pdf, with the majority of files being preserved in both formats. The archiving of content extends to all electronic components of ETHICA, including the website and manuscripts, which are securely stored across three distinct sources. One source offers online and reader-accessible content, while two alternate sources stand as reliable backups. In the event of a server malfunction, the transition to one of the alternate sources can be accomplished within 24-36 hours, ensuring uninterrupted reader accessibility.

Self-Preservation
ETHICA advocates for self-archiving, employing platforms such as Google Drive. The journal encourages authors to enhance the visibility and accessibility of their research within their professional networks. Authors are invited to upload the final published version of their articles to personal or institutional repositories immediately following publication. Accompanying bibliographic information acknowledges the article's publication in the journal.
